Glendale, Arizona is a suburban community of about 250,000 people nine miles northwest of Phoenix. Glendale began as a commercial center to help farmers get their fruits, vegetables and livestock to market. By 1895 the rail link was established in Phoenix, Glendale and soon became the largest city in the Salt River Valley.
