Glendale, Arizona is a suburban community of about 250,000 people nine miles northwest of Phoenix. Glendale began as a commercial center to help farmers get their fruits, vegetables and livestock to market. In the late 1800s, the family attracts community for a reliable supply of water, rich farmland and a strict anti-alcohol policy. By 1895 the rail link was established in Phoenix, Glendale and soon became the largest city in the Salt River Valley. In a short time, developed the Glendale center with shops, theaters, banks and other companies. Much of the historic city center remains intact.
